Participation fee

  • 300 euros for the first month
  • Two months and more : 250 euros

The fee contribution is for your meals mostly.


The following costs are NOT included:

  • Cost of drinks like soda, beer, mineral water etc.
  • Cost of personal items like toiletries
  • Cost of sightseeing
  • Visa costs
  • Local travelling including transport to the project


You can either pay through:

  • Cash in Euros or USD
  • Cash in Kenya Shilling, based on the current exchange rate

*The Kenyan use M-PESA : it is a mobile money service in Kenya that lets you send and receive money, pay bills, and shop using your phone. It’s like having a bank account on your mobile, which is really useful, especially in remote areas. It’s widely used, so during your stay, you’ll find it convenient for everyday transactions, from paying for groceries to sending money to friends.

Apply to join our project as a volunteer:

1. Get to know the project
Take the time to explore our website, it’s full of information about what we do. If you have any questions, feel free to ask us.

2. Submit a motivation letter
We want to ensure you're genuinely motivated about working and living with us.  

We would love to discover your true self so have fun writing your motivation letter and be yourself ! Alternatively, you can record a video of yourself, like an interview, to express your motivation. Send us your letter on this email maraoseroproject@gmail.com.

Please wait for our response before taking any further steps.

When you have a positive answer

1. Passport and other important documents

  • Ensure your passport is still valid, with an expiration date at least 6 months beyond your arrival in Kenya. 
  • Book your plane tickets.
  • Apply for a eTA (it's like a visa). Processing time is three (working) days but in some cases it may take longer.

Please send us an email with a scan of your passport and a pdf documents of your eTA.

Prepare the following documents before starting your eTA application.

  • Valid passport for at least six (6) months after your planned date of arrival into Kenya, with at least one blank page 
  • Selfie or passport-type photo
  • Contact information, email address and phone number
  • Details of your arrival and departure itinerary 
  • Accommodation booking confirmation(s)
  • Credit card, debit card or other means of payment

2. Fill the form

We will send you an email with the form, which includes needed information on travel, health, contact details, and more.

3. Pack your things and you are ready to go !
