New project in process...
In 2024, we began constructing manyattas in the camp.
By January 2025, we continued working on three traditional manyattas, reimagined by the host as volunteer quarters. These structures have a essence of cultural heritage, modern durability, natural materials and designs. We are using wood sourced from the bush creating something truly special. Our team collaborated for less than two weeks on this project. The plan is to build one more manyatta and "pimp" all of them to have the possibility to sleep in these future beautiful rooms.
We are so excited by this project, as it will elevate the volunteer experience ✨

Bad news from the garden...
The elephants broke into the garden, toppling a tree that fell onto the fence. This allowed them and baboons easy access to the garden, and they seemed quite pleased. Unfortunately, they devastated our crops in the process. Now, the garden is overrun with weeds and marked by their enormous footprints. Access to vegetables and fruit is essential for sustainable living in the camp; however, we will need to pause our gardening efforts for now and focus our energy on another project.

We welcomed people from diverse countries, tribes, and projects to our camp. We got the chance to showcase the projects of our CBO. The project Critical Conversation created beautiful moments for all of us to live together : morning exercices and dances, discussing important topics, and listening to their beautiful stories. Storytelling is important in the Maasai culture. We bounded over shared meals, songs, dances, laughter, bonfires,...
